It’s all about aromas.
Herbs and spices blooming
Turkey and stuffing roasting
Hot potatoes mashing with butter and cream
Casseroles bubbling
Pies baking! Pumpkin, pecan, apple, and more
Fresh rolls steaming
Wine gurgling into glasses
Papa’s cologne
Mama’s hand lotion
Fat little baby bellies
Winter coats, still chilled
All aromas are particulate.
Once released they suspend in the air;
dispersed in the atmosphere, but there.
What we call memories may be tiny particles
of love,
forever floating,
all around us
